Budget Car and Truck Rental drives Blue Ribbon partnership

Paul Wheelton and Budget Car and Truck Rental this week announced their commitment to the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation by pledging $1million to the organisation over the next five years.

Honouring the ongoing work that Blue Ribbon do in the community, the announcement comes as this week marked four years since four officers lost their lives in a tragic incident on Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway.

“We are honoured to partner with the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and to serve as its principal partner,” said Paul Wheelton, AM CGSJ. “This relationship and connection is about more than just financial support – it’s about helping share their story across the communities we serve every day.

“The work they do to help perpetuate the memory of fallen Victoria Police officers is incredibly important,” said Paul. “It’s easy to forget the daily risks that officers take in order to keep our community safe.”

As part of the partnership, Budget will actively promote the collaboration across its fleet, with VPBRF branding to be featured on trucks and vans, helping to raise awareness of the Foundation’s work across metropolitan and regional Victoria.

The commitment reflects Budget’s strong alignment with the foundation’s mission and its dedication to supporting the Victorian community.

The impact of Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation

Since its establishment, the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation has contributed millions of dollars to public health, including the funding of key hospital facilities and vital emergency medical equipment that helps save lives and support the frontline medical staff.

In total, 178 Victoria Police members have died in the line of duty. Of these, 30 have been murdered, which underlines the dangers police members face on a daily basis.
